19 Months: Addendum

Just as I suspected, Adam's word count is higher than I blogged about, so I felt the need to further brag about my child and update you with the additional words and phrases he knows.

In addition to the last list, Adam also knows:

  • Thank You (often said when he's handing YOU something)
  • Boy and Girl. He even tries to say "I'm a Boy" or "I'm a Girl" which are lyrics to one of his favorite signing songs.
  • Light
  • Rain
  • Help (already mentioned), but I think his "Help Please" is "Abby"
  • All Done
  • Swing
  • Nose, Teeth, Toes, Eyes
  • I Love You (working on the verbal and sign together)
  • Sounds -- dog, cow, monkey, sheep, elephant, car (vroom-vroom), train (choo-choo). Of course, the other day I was telling him No, and then when he continued I asked, "What did Mommy say?", to which he responded, "woof woof."
  • Kim (Well, his "Kim" sounds like "Mee" but Kim is counting it.)
And most recently discovered:
  • He actually counts to 10, not 5. Lately he's been skipping 3, doesn't yet say 6, 7 to him is "Bobby", and 9 & 10 all sound the same but with extra excitement and volume on 10, followed by claps of course. Oftentimes we just have him count to 7 so we can hear him say "Bobby". And we all love his number 2: "teyouuuuuu".
  • And this just discovered -- "Where'd he/she/it go?" with his palms out to the sides, followed by "There she is." The other night in the middle of the night Adam was awake and jabbering. He coughed and his pacifier flew out, and I heard him ask, "Where'd it go?" Love this!

PS, on a more personal note, his, um, "stream" is beautifully normal. Have no fear.

  1. Based on your long, detailed explanation about how he counts to 10, I'm not sure that we can actually consider that as counting to 10! Haha! It's kind of like how my house is laid out "just like yours"! Can't wait for Adam's next visit with Aunt Meeee!
