We can officially declare that Adam is walker! For the past week Adam has been walking everywhere. If he is standing up, he will walk to his next destination. If he falls en-route, he'll crawl from there, but he pulls himself up again and takes off once more.
Here's a look at his progression from his first steps:
1. While in Illinois Adam takes his first consecutive steps and was so tickled with himself. (I had to brighten the video so quality suffered - sorry):
2. Realizing his mobility, he started using this push walker much more. Actually, he dragged it around more than pushed it. He takes it everywhere all over the house; he even tries to drag it through the bar stool legs. He just needs something to balance on while moving upright.
3. As balance improves, so does the speed. Sometimes he picks up a lot of speed and starts to look like a drunken sailor, but overall we've been impressed with how he can catch himself when he gets off balance. This boy is a mover!
4. Then this was just last night -- much more controlled and stable.
Until he can figure out how to stand up on his own (which he's done once), he won't be an exclusive walker, but it is definitely his preferred mode of travel these days. At 11-1/2 months we have a toddler!
